There are many ornamental and fruit trees in the exuberant hotel garden that serve as both shelter and food sources for many natives birds - and specialists have identified 70 different varieties (some of them endemics) that visit us at different times of the year. Among the surprisingly avian fauna to be found in the Chapada Diamantina are the hummingbirds, which are likewise attracted by the nectar-rich flowers in our garden and can be seen interacting with fruit and seed-eating birds around them. One of the best times to watch these wonderful animals is of course in the morning when they first come to visit the garden, and you can savor your breakfast while watching their movements and listening to their songs and call.
